As we navigate through a rapidly evolving educational landscape, it is crucial to recognize and support organizations that are dedicated to providing accessible learning opportunities for all. One such commendable initiative is a non-profit entity that is making a tangible difference in the lives of adults who are currently incarcerated by offering support for college classes.

New Directions Education Project is striving to unlock potential and open doors for individuals seeking to further their education despite their circumstances. By providing financial assistance for college courses, they are effectively breaking down barriers and empowering individuals to strive for a better future.
New Direction Education Project was created in 1993 after Pell grants were no longer available to adults who were incarcerated. A group of educators and concerned citizens thought AICs deserved more educational opportunities. Over the last 24 years NDEP has offered over 89 different College level classes with more than 1,185 students participating and has produced 10 AAOT graduates. We currently have 20 students in the program. The adults we provide college classes for reside at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI) and Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) from Ontario, Oregon is our educational provider. The program is stronger than ever.
In conclusion, the New Directions Education Project is a beacon of hope for individuals seeking to transform their lives through education. By fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, our organization is paving the way for a brighter future and making a positive impact and unlocking a world of opportunities for those in need.
